What to do when there is delay as a Single or Married

  • Let’s talk to the singles first. What do you do as a single, especially as a single lady experiencing delay? You have prayed, you have confessed, you have given offering, you have seized the moment, you have even tried to seize the future, and yet nothing seems to be happening. What do you do at such times? Really it can be frustrating at times, because it looks like God is answering the prayers of others except you.

Common, let’s be real. Have you not felt sometimes that it looks like somebody that is less spiritual than you, who doesn’t serve God as much as you and who doesn’t pray as much as you is married with no qualms?

And then you start thinking of a lot of things. Is there a curse? But didn’t they say that we have been redeemed from the curse of the law? Or may be I am not beautiful enough? Oh, that can’t be it because those who are not near “fine” at all are beautifully married and with children!

If it is beauty, you are there. If it is academic qualification, you have tried. If it is serving God, you are there. But then, why is it that there is still delay?

Now, there are some self imposed limitations and delay brought about by outright disobedience to God, refusing to heed God’s voice in relating with certain people and so on.

But what about when someone has tried staying out of iniquity and yet prayers seemed unanswered!

Now there are two things I just need to tell you this morning! Two things.

The first is that you should never ever give up on yourself! You see, God’s plan in your situation is to bring forth His glory because you are His child, while the devil’s plan is that you should be frustrated to the point of giving up!

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. (Galatians 6:9 KJV)

Never stop being good. Don’t believe the devil’s lies that bad girls get married faster than good ones. There is no census to validate such arrant nonsense. God does not work with census. When David took a census in the scriptures, God punished him and the entire nation. God’s way of doing things is that He can bypass millions of people to reach you when you please him. No matter how many people get married everyday, the reality remains that nobody can marry your spouse!

The key in the verse above is to never be weary. Don’t be weary at serving God. Don’t get tired. Don’t get angry! Don’t get offended at your maker. The devil is a lair and God’s word will never fall to the ground. Do not be weary in being good. Don’t mess up all the years of serving God and waiting on God with one careless act resulting from frustration. You have done all you know to do, so He says, ‘Having done all, stand!’ Don’t get fatigued because somebody on your street just got married. Rejoice with such a person, because they would soon rejoice with you!

Then He says, in due season! There is a due season for you that all of hell cannot stop. When the due season of Jesus Christ came, he rose up in the midst of hell and all of hell combined could not stop Him! He was the same Christ that was beaten, spat on and crucified a few days before by weak and beggarly elements, but when His due season came, He rose triumphantly!

I see you rising triumphantly from that pit of delay. I see God collapsing the years of delay and bringing you into unimaginable joy! I see God causing you to forget the shame of your youth! I see God honouring your heart of uprightness!

Come on, speak in tongues a little and speak those words into your life!

    Finally, that scripture concludes,

In due season you will reap, if you faint not!

If you faint not! Refuse to faint! When somebody faints, the person passes out and misses God’s goodness and visitation. Stay alert. Stay close to God’s word. Don’t stop going to church. Refuse to get tired, because your glory is so near!

    Remember what the scriptures says:

Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. (1 Corinthians 2:8 KJV)

That would be your song! Had the devil known, he would not have tried to cause some delays. Because at the end, the delay would not be a denial, but a set up from God to bring you into a wealthy place! The devil will regret over your life, because God’s counsel will prevail.

I celebrate with you in advance. This is your year, this is your time, Keep staying in God’s word, keep serving God, keep sowing your seed and keep praising Him

Tomorrow, I will continue sharing on the second thing to know and do at such times and will also talk about the married experiencing delay. You are blessed!

God will honour you today! He will remember your seed sown. He will lift up your head and cause today to be productive for you in Jesus name!

    Kindly check announcements below.

I refuse to fiant or be fatigued

I receive fresh energy from God to forge ahead

So let's not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don't give up, or quit. (Galatians 6:9 Message)
