Five lies every single and married must passionately reject

  • The only thing a lair can do is to lie. The devil is not just a lair. He is the father of all lies. He has lied till he is lying in state.

“…When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. "  (Joh 8:44b KJV)

    Amplified Version says:
"When he speaks a falsehood, he speaks what is natural to him, for he is a liar [ himself ] and the father of lies and of all that is false."  (Joh 8:44, AMP)

Here are some lies of the devil you must reject! Refuse to accept them. Do not accommodate them in your thoughts. Discard them. Trash them. Don't just send them to recycle bin, expunge them completely!

    1. You are created for nothing.
This is the first lie that we’ll look at this morning. Does it sound familiar? Those thoughts come from time to time, you are a biological mistake, your parents don’t like you, your friends don’t like you, you are just there. You are just there floating. There is nothing you have to offer! You are useless. You have no gifts.

Well, that is the voice of the evil one and you must passionately reject it. Why? Because the only thing the devil can do is to lie. He is incapable of telling the truth!

What do we see in the scripture?
"Before I shaped you in the womb, I knew all about you. Before you saw the light of day, I had holy plans for you: A prophet to the nations— that's what I had in mind for you."  (Jer 1:5, MSG)

The scripture makes us to understand here that purpose precedes creation. Ever before God created you, he already fashioned into you what you will need to fulfil your purpose. In other words, you are an assignment. There is something great you are packaged to fulfil. You only need to move closer to God to discover it. There is a gift in you that the world is waiting for.

The devil once told me as a teenager that I was useless. He told me that I had no gifts and I had nothing to offer. I wondered why I believed his lies because at that point, I was the school's Essay Writer, winning prizes all over the place! He told me that I was so unlucky and I believed him. And yet, inside me is the gift of God. Inside me are words of inspirations that I would write and would be read in 200 nations of the world. Inside me is the unique grace to help singles and married couples across the world. Inside me is the anointing to break sexual perversions and set people free from the pangs of the evil one! Inside me is the grace to write, like the pen of a ready writer, everyday, without fail for years…and I have been writing since 2010…the fountain of His grace keeps flowing… the devil lied!

Whose report will you believe? Make up you mind to believe the report of the Lord!

The next time the devil comes ranting that lie, tell him to get our of you life! Don’t entertain his lies! The negative feelings you have must not be allowed to swallow God’s plan for you. Reject those feelings!

    2. Your sins are beyond redemption. God will never forgive you
Coming up fast on the heels of that first lie is this one. You have sinned too much. God can never accept you again. You’ve done too many bad things. God is angry with you! You’ve repeated the same mistakes and God is going to punish you!

Is that what we see in the scripture? No! Ever before you see God’s judgement, you will see His mercy! The blood of Jesus is crying mercy. The blood of Abel is crying judgement but the blood Jesus is shouting better things on your behalf.

There is nothing like “You have gone too far!” The blood of Jesus had gone farthest! He is able to save you from the gutter-most to the uttermost!

If Rahab, the professional prostitute can make it to Hebrews 11 as the great grandmother of Jesus,  then you will make it. If Saul, a foremost enemy of God can be forgiven and used of God, God will still use you! The only thing He asks of you today is to repent and turn around!

    3. You will be poor. There is nothing you can do about it
The next lies is to scare the life out of you that you will never be rich. And you are almost believing because of your experiences with lack.

But what do we see in the scriptures:
"Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth."  (3Jn 1:2, KJV)

What do you do when the devil is feeding you this lie? Decide to be rich. Go further by working the principles that guide sowing and reaping. You can break the back of poverty by giving, sowing, paying your tithe and supporting God’s work. When you do that, no devil in hell can stop your harvest because it is a universal law. No generational curse, if there is ever anything, can truncate your prosperity when you are a passionate and consistent giver.

    4. God doesn't love you. He loves other people
That is another lie from the pit of hell. God loves you like no other. He demonstrated His love by emptying His son of His divinity to come just because of you, to die for your sins, sicknesses and make you free from the curse of the law.

God doesn't love anybody more than you. He is not a partial God. But you can get more from God when you stay close to Him and you learn to practice His presence. You can get more of God when you decide to stay off sin and you learn to listen to His voice.

If God doesn't love you, you should be cold dead by now. But He has been preserving your life, protecting you, from invisible attacks that you know nothing about. He has dispatched His angels to guide you severally from the attacks of the enemy that you know nothing about. The deliverance has been so smooth, that you didn’t have a clue, yet there has been a battle for your soul.

That is why you should give thanks at all times.

    5. Marriage is not for you. You can be single
This is another lie from the pit of hell. He has confused the mind so much that you now hate marriage passionately, and you want to be single.

You even quote the scripture  where it says, marriage is not for everybody!

Yes, marriage is not for everybody and the way we know it is not for you is when you are not burning and you are not messing around.

But you say marriage is not for you and yet you already have a child? That becomes a lie right away. You say you are not getting married and yet you sleep around?

When you hate marriage but indulge in jeru trap, what you are doing is trying to explore the pleasure of sin, while trying to avoid the responsibility of raising a family.

Let’s see what Paul said as we conclude:
"Sometimes I wish everyone were single like me—a simpler life in many ways! But celibacy is not for everyone any more than marriage is. God gives the gift of the single life to some, the gift of the married life to others. I do, though, tell the unmarried and widows that singleness might well be the best thing for them, as it has been for me. But if they can't manage their desires and emotions, they should by all means go ahead and get married. The difficulties of marriage are preferable by far to a sexually tortured life as a single. And if you are married, stay married. This is the Master's command, not mine."  (1Co 7:7-10, MSG)
