How to stop a life of habitual compromise

  • I have always said it. God is merciful and He would not hold us on account of our past. He is ever ready to forgive, and not just forgive but also forget.

So there is a place in God to ask for forgiveness when you make a mistake, fall into trap out of carelessness or spiritual immaturity, and yes, God will forgive because He promised to do so.

    1Jn 1:9 (KJV)
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

If we confess, that’s one, He will forgive, that’s two, and he will cleanse us, that’s three. This means then that we are not supposed to “continue” in that sinful lifestyle because he has “cleansed us!”

    Here is Message Translation:
    1Jn 1:9 (MSG)
On the other hand, if we admit our sins—make a clean breast of them—he won't let us down; he'll be true to himself. He'll forgive our sins and purge us of all wrongdoing.

Oh, I love this translation because it captures what I am trying to communicate by the Spirit of God.

If we admit and make a clean breast! That’s the key! Are you willing to admit and make a clean breast? God will never let you down.

But you see, most times, people, even believers continue in habitual sins.

They are born again but they sleep together.

She is born again, a worship leader, but she cohabits with a guy.

He is born again, spirit filled, but he cannot see anything in skirt. He will lose his all, temper, temperature and temperament!

She is born again, a deaconess in church, but she is dating a married man!

He is born again and married and yet caught in adulterous escapades!

How did we get to a place where we think we can combine our service to God with habitual compromise?

They just finished service and they hold hands to go and have jeru trap! Somehow, they think all will be well. How? The question is how? Can we really fool God to that extent?

But the scripture is clear on that!
    Gal 6:7 (KJV)
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

If that scripture is not clear enough, let’s take a look here:
    Gal 6:7 (AMP)
Do not be deceived and deluded and misled; God will not allow Himself to be sneered at (scorned, disdained, or mocked by mere pretensions or professions, or by His precepts being set aside.) [ He inevitably deludes himself who attempts to delude God ] For whatever a man sows, that and that only is what he will reap.

Whoever attempts to delude God inevitably deludes himself.

Maybe we don’t realise, but most cases of unrepentant sexual compromise are demonic cases. Oh, you are born again and you cannot be possessed, yes I know, but there can be external oppression and obsession when you get really careless.

So, there is the demon of lust, strongman called perversion, that works with a person who won't stop sleeping around or who is bound to pornography and masturbation. In no time, the spirit of deception joins, and that deceives him and tells him that everybody is doing it, there won’t be problems.

So, you see, the demon of perversion fires the lust, the spirit of deception pushes him into the sin. And then, there is the operation of the demon behind religion, that keeps the person coming to church and that the sexual sins of Saturday can be forgiven in Sunday and you can go back on Monday to continue in the same sin and then come back on Sunday again for cleansing!

How do such people really think? But you see, he is fast losing his reasons to passionate lust, that has taken over reasoning.

Coupled with all these demonic strongholds are the various other demonic transference that are exchanged with each sexual partner!

So a lady keeps having sexual partners, and she keeps getting hardened the more, because she just slept with a man whose heart is hardened, she kept looking for more jeru trap, because she just slept with a man who is addicted!

This is why it is often said that sexual sins are difficult to stop. They are not really difficult in that sense, but the person is entangled with different demonic entities!

Dad Kenneth Hagin once said God opened his eyes and he saw three demons following a man. And He would yield to them and start misbehaving and his life wasn't straight until those demonic entities were dealt with.

Listen to me, when you are a child of God and yet you cannot do without jeru trap, you're a child of God but you are bound to some perversion, you are a child of God and yet you are have inordinate affection towards the same sex, you are a child of God and yet full of unrepentant lust, you are a child of God and yet you and your fiancee are living in sexual sins, you know what, you are cutting yourself short from God's support and favour in your life.

You cannot, read the lines, you cannot continue in habitual sexual sins and yet be pleasing God. They do not go together.

Tomorrow, I will tell you what you can do to break free.

But today’s devotional will not be complete if I don't tell you that upon all the compromise, God doesn't hate you!

    No, he doesn’t!

He does not condemn you and He will not condone that sin. He wants you clean, so that you can live to please him and not please your flesh all the time.

If you are always pleasing your flesh, you cannot please God!

    Rom 8:8 (AMP)
So then those who are living the life of the flesh [ catering to the appetites and impulses of their carnal nature ] cannot please or satisfy God, or be acceptable to Him.

You want to please God? You want to stop this life of compromise? Are you tired?

Then you need to make up your mind. Do some practical things! Disconnect from that sinful partner. Refuse to go that guest house again. Do not follow him home again. Do not answer his call at 9.00pm knowing what is the next thing!

Tomorrow, I will tell you more things, but I want you to embrace the love and the grace of God. His love will forgive you, and His grace will keep you standing!

    Remember what He said?
    Rom 6:14 (KJV)
For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

There is an anointing upon this ministry to set you free! There is a grace upon KHC to help you live free! If you can embrace these words of God, strength will be infused into you, even now, to say NO and to live for God!

May God release His strength over you now!
