Her words remained, even after she left!

  • Tunde, what will you like to do when you grow up?
That was my mum asking me that question. I was in primary school, and I thought a little and said, “Business”

In my little head, I just knew business is synonymous with being rich.

My mum smiled, and said, “No, you are going to be a Pastor!”

I resented that, because I had grown up all my life in an Anglican Church, and somehow I didn’t like that white robe with a rope-like belt!

I said “No Mummy, “I am a business man!”

She smiled again, put her hand around my head, and said, you will be a Pastor.
My mum had just been born again, and all us kids at home would not rest.
She was an energetic woman. She was everywhere in church, from choir, to ushering, to cleaning the church, to organising vigils and prayer meetings.
Before she got born again, she was a fan of Pacesetters, a novel series that was everywhere in the seventies and eighties.
At the last count, there were over seventy of them in our house.
After she got born again, those books disappeared and were replaced with Kenneth Hagin books.

Kenneth Hagin Magazines flooded our house. Our house was always filled with youths, young people and all of that. I have always been used to crowd.
I was kind of spoilt because I was the only boy in the midst of four girls before we had the last born who happened to be a boy.
I would get jealous when mum hands fifty kobo notes to youths who needs financial assistance while the highest amount I ever got from her was ten kobo!

One day, I confronted her that why is she always doing that. Again, she looked at me, this time, not smiling, but I can never forget what she said.

I am doing it for you! You will never be stranded in life!

I didn't understand that then but I do now.

When I look at myself and all my siblings and how God has sent supernatural help even in strange lands, then I understood, like David said.
My sister was in University of Uyo and Rev Uma Ukpai took her as a daughter and took care of her.

My sister landed in United States without knowing anybody but a family took her in.

I can go on and on. Strangers have helped me in circumstances where I am thinking is this a human or an angel?

My mum prayed for us all. She got me and my sisters filled with the Holy Ghost! What a heritage!

I remembered that day. I was just back from school, and I was in secondary school at this time. I was in class two.

She just asked us to kneel down, there was no explanation, she prayed a short prayer and said we should say “Halleluyah" repeatedly! It wasn't quite twenty seconds before a supernatural tongue bursted out of my mouth. I wanted to stop but I couldn’t!
    And that was it.
My mum went home to be with the Lord, when I was only sixteen.

I was coming back from school that day, and it was a hot sunny afternoon, but I knew instinctively something was wrong. As I walked home, it seemed something has changed, but I didn't know what. It was a kind of a knowing or premonition. All of a sudden, I became sad without knowing why.
When I got home, I met a massive crowd. My dad placed his hands around my head, took me behind the door of the living room, and said, your mum is gone! You are the man over your siblings now! And with that he walked away.
It was as if my life was shattered at that moment. I thought everything had ended. I loved my mum so much and I felt I would not survive it.
But God helped me. As young as I was, I prayed that the comforter, would comfort us.

If there is anybody out there, going through some tragic times or the loss of a dear one, I want you to know that God will take care of you. If you keep your relationship with God intact, God will be both father and mother to you at the same time.

Today, I am a Pastor, exactly like her words.
At nineteen years of age, three years after mum passed on, I saw Jesus in a vision, and even then I pushed it aside and ignored it until I was in my final year in school.

I have narrated all this story to let you know, that words don’t die!
My mum said those words many years back, and it came to pass many years after. Words don't die!
Every word you are speaking into your life, into the lives of your children, into the life of your spouse will never die.
And this is why you should also discipline yourself to refrain from speaking negative words.
Words are so powerful that they can overwhelm your life and give your life a certain direction.

This is why Jesus said,
    Joh 6:63 (KJV)
It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
Never give up on any situation. Keep speaking the right words. Very soon, you will see the fruits of your words.

The sweetness and the satisfaction you can see in your life, relationship, marriage and finances right now are the fruits that come from the words you speak through your mouth.
Take a look at these scriptures:
    Pro 12:14 (KJV)

A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man's hands shall be rendered unto him.
    Pro 13:2 (KJV)
A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth: but the soul of the transgressors shall eat violence.
    Pro 18:20 (KJV)
A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.
    Pro 18:21 (KJV)

Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
    I particularly like Pro 18:20.
You will be filled with the increase of your lips.
In other words, after reading the word, after sowing your seed, start speaking your expectations and God’s word.
What you say is what will happen at the end.
Even though my mum passed on, her words never did. Those words came to pass!
Ask yourself, are my words aligned to God’s word?

Make up your mind to stop speaking fear and negative words, but to start speaking life to relationship, marriage and finances!
And so shall it be in Jesus name!
