New Wine For Relationship and Marriage

  • By Pastor Sophia
Wine is known for its intoxicating qualities, it's ability to make the soul merry.

And that Solomon likens the love between a man and woman like the feeling one gets from taking wine.

    Song of Solomon 7:9 (KJV)
And the roof of thy mouth like the best wine for my beloved, that goeth down sweetly, causing the lips of those that are asleep to speak.

    Song of Solomon 4:10 (KJV)
How fair is thy love, my sister, my spouse! how much better is thy love than wine! and the smell of thine ointments than all spices!

Wine is also associated with celebrations, joyous occasions and merry making. A time of excitements, where all hatred, bitterness, malice and rancor are suspended.
The sweet taste of wine makes it a delight to have around to entertain visitors. It has medicinal functions that makes it a healthy drink especially if it's non alcoholic.
When praying for couples especially during their anniversaries, a prayer of renewal of love and their marriage having new wine is always said.
I think it is also significant that the very first miracle Jesus performed was that of turning water to wine at a wedding in Cana.
John 2:2-11 (KJV)  And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.  [3]  And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.  [4]  Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.   [5]  His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.   [6]  And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.  [7]  Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.  [8]  And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it.   [9]  When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,  [10]  And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.  [11]  This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.
From the story we can see that Jesus is pleased with making sure there is joy, happiness and excitement in our marriages, relationships and home. He demonstrated that by supernaturally providing the needed wine as at when due.
Of key importance is the instruction that Mary the mother of Jesus gave.
John 2:5 (KJV)  His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
The key to unleashing the supernatural power of God is in our obedience. Our readiness to obey and do whatever He asks us to do.
Instructions and obeying them are the link between where we are now and that desired place we want to be especially in our relationships and marriages.
God might be asking you to forgive, be more loving, be more submissive, pray more, be accountable to a mentor, sow a seed etc.
Wherever you find yourself, seek God's face. Ask Him what you need to do for new wine to be restored to your relationship. Once He has spoken through your pastor, a book, a message etc, once you sense an instruction, go ahead and obey and in miraculous ways you will experience new wine.

There will be restoration and rekindling of new love, affection and excitement in your relationship and marriage in Jesus name

    John 2:5 (MSG)
She went ahead anyway, telling the servants, "Whatever he tells you, do it."
