My son is a gadget freak

When my son was growing up, in a bid to bestow love upon my son, I showered him with all kinds of toys, computer games, gifts and more.
Now, as a teen, I discovered that he has now become addicted to games and has an increased love for gadgets.
He tells me to buy the latest phones, tabs, just to keep abreast with the happenings around.
I don't know how to withdraw all these gifts without looking like a wicked father, since he's already used to them.
