Parents vs Pastors!

I've heard Pastors talk about accountability and having a mentor over you and all that.
I used to think it was only men that had such issues.

I have a female friend, who believes what her dad says is final. She doesn't really believe in having pastors and spiritual leaders over your life (I so much believe in that). Yes, our parents are there to guide us, at the same time, pastors and mentors are there for us as well.

So where does one draw the line, where do we balance it...because this is a lady I have been eyeing for a while now.

The bottom line is to have mentors whom we are accountable to. They should be people we can look up to as models and as counsellors in times of trouble.

So be it pastors or parents, it doesnt matter. For this lady, if her parents are truly God-fearing and loving, then she can have them as mentors and you have your pastor as your mentor, no issues here.
