Novak Djokovic has been named the Laureus World Sportsman of the Year at a ceremony in Shanghai, China.
Djokovic won ahead of fellow nominees Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese and Real Madrid footballer, and Northern Ireland golfer Rory McIlroy.
"This is probably the crown of my 2014 season that has been highlighted with winning Wimbledon, regaining No. 1 in the world and becoming a father," said Djokovic. "It has probably been my best year so far in my life.

Team of the Year -Germany Men’s Football Team
Comeback of the Year -Shalck Burger (South African Rugby player)
Breakthrough of the Year -Daniel Ricciardo (Australian F1 rider)
Action Sportsperson of the Year -Alan Eustace
Disability Sportsperson of the Year -Tayana McFadden
Academy Exceptional Achievement -Li Na
Spirit of Sports -Yao Ming
