I hate going to the kitchen

In all honesty the kitchen is not the only place wives need helping hands. In cleaning the house, you can wash clothes together (like she washes you rinse and spread), laying the bed spread together, carrying your baby, helping to buy stuffs from the market.
So the kitchen is just one place not the only place and you can kindly explain the kitchen exemption to her.
