Avoiding A Relationship That Will Not Work Part 2

Continued from yesterday

Pastor, what exactly are you talking about?

Let’s find out from this scripture:

"Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain." (Psa 127:1, KJV)

In any successful relationship, courtship or marriage, God must be involved! If God is not involved, my dear people, it is a wasted effort, and a labour that leads no where! There will be a labouring quite alright. The letters would flow, the gifts will be exchanged, trips will be inclusive, and the love may seem second to none, but if the Lord does not build it, it is a wasted effort!

My prayer for you this morning, is that your labour will not be wasted. You will not labour for fun! It is not good to fall in love for fun for three years and then have nothing out of it. It is not good to spend the best ten years of your youthful life married, only for it to end eventually.

The Lord must build. Forget about your architectural skill and your building prowess. Forget about your toasting skills and all that. The Lord must build. The scripture cannot be broken. Except your relationship, courtship and marriage is built by God, it is a wasted labour!

Message Translation puts it this way:

"If GOD doesn't build the house, the builders only build shacks…

May you not build shacks in Jesus name! May years of labouring in a courtship or marriage not end as shacks!

Good Word Translations says:

"If the LORD does not build the house, it is useless for the builders to work on it…

I pray for you this morning, your labour will not end up as useless. Notice that the labour and strength expended may even be more and intense, but as long as God is not involved, the summary is that it is useless!

So how do we get God involved?

It is so simple. The commandments of God are not grievous! Let Him lead you before you make your decisions. Follow his leading and not just your flesh. Give Him first place in your life and in your decisions. Don't let your decisions be emotional alone, let it be spiritual.

Now the quickest way to always get God involved in all your affairs is to develop a relationship with Him. God doesn't want to be used as a spare tyre!

How do you develop a relationship with God? Let me give you some quick ideas as I conclude this morning.

1. Get born again. That is the starting point. There are links below the site to do that.

2. Get filled with the Holy Ghost. That is every important and helps you to be led of God.

3. Don't joke with a time with God daily. Read your Bible regularly because that is where life and direction comes from.

4. Stay away from sin. Iniquity slows down. Righteousness exalts

I pray for you this morning from the depth of my heart, God will help you and your labour will not be in vain. Your efforts will not end up as useless in Jesus name. It is well with you!
