Count It All Joy

Happy new month.

It's the first day in the last month of 2017.

Today also marks the beginning of our 21 days fasting and prayers

God has indeed been faithful.

He has been good and merciful to us.

You may have had it rough or had questions in your heart.

Maybe you even lost someone dear to you or lost an opportunity you considered great.

Whatever state you are in right now, God is faithful because that is who He is.

As a single, in your relationship, God is faithful.

Not because your relationship worked out or not but because that is who He is.

Whatever challenges you may be facing or have faced, there is an attitude as a child of God we should possess.

Jas 1:2
Consider it wholly joyful, my brethren, whenever you are enveloped in or encounter trials of any sort or fall into various temptations.

Our text scripture this morning implores us to count it all joy.

God is wiser than us definitely and His word is for us to live by.

We fellowship with the person of Jesus and become more like him when we meditate on God's word and obey it.

Whatever the situation, we are to consider 'it', that is the situation.

Give a mental thought about that situation and see it as something worth been joyful about.

Most of the time, what we don't understand is that when we encounter trials, tests or challenges, something good is meant to come out of them.

When your fiancé or fiancee jilts you, it's not time to be bitter and start up a fight and start questioning God.

It's time to count it all joy.

When you do, it becomes a tool in the hands of God to give you a testimony.

Practical ways to count it all joy

1. Literally do the opposite of what you feel like doing. You feel like crying, laugh. You feel like cursing, bless. You feel like revenge or vengeance, leave the matter into God's hands.

2. Talk to God as your father. Pour out your heart to Him and seek His help and Mercy.

3. Don't complain, murmur or be bitter. Never blame God.

4. Ask God for exactly what to do and how best to handle the situation. For some, you may need to forgive. For others you may need to call the person.

5. Rejoice. Sing. Worship. God. A praise and worship tape will be of tremendous benefit here. You can sing and dance along.

6. Take your focus away from the pain, hurt, disappointment, false accusations and lies.

7. Don't rehearse the pain and hurt in your heart over and over again.

8. Let it go and allow God.

9. Wait for God to vindicate you and bless you. Every act of obedience opens the door for blessing.

10. Repeat the process. Don't break or abort the process.
