Look Inwards And You Will Find The Right Lover

It was evening.
The sun had lost its glare, and people could stare at it without squinting. The trees worked together in perfect synchrony to produce just the right amount of breeze to soothe wearied bodies.
It was the right evening for a stroll, and Mesue and his friend Bams were doing just that - strolling down the East axis of their large campus. And they were doing just fine until one lady, who attended the same campus fellowship with them, strolled by on the other side of the road.
"She's a wife material! I'm going to get her for a wife," Bams told Mesue, as though lost in thought. He was a finalist, and hooking up before leaving the campus had become his recent obsession.
"See your life? So you've turned her to a material?" Mesue retorted.
"It's not like that my brother. It's more like a figure of speech; just like saying 'you are a lion.'"
"Okay, but I don't buy the idea still." You don't refer to a lady as a material!
Mesue didn't like the 'wife material' term, but not willing to lose this opportunity, to talk sense into His friend about an issue that has been on his mind for some time, he continued in that line.
"So when you get this 'wife material', what will you use her for? A rag?"
"How do you mean?" Bams queried.
"You don't yet have the competence of a good tailor to transform that 'wife material' into the garment that her Lord desires" Mesue softly said, trying to cherry pick his words.
"Are you saying I'm not good enough? You must be stupid!"
Bams said, almost shouting and walking away. He was visibly angered, and that brought their quiet stroll to a premature end.
"You see that? That's one evidence against you. ANGER will put holes in the 'wife material'!" Mesue shouted after him.
"So you want to get an expensive 'material' and mess it up due to your gross incompetence? God forbid," Mesue continued, not willing to lose this opportunity. He knew just how to deal with Bams.
"In fact I pray for you: May you never get a 'material' that you are not skilled enough to handle!" Mesue added jokingly, yet seriously.
My dear brothers, I write to you today, continuing in line with the discourse between Mesue and Bams.
Do you have the necessary competence required to turn that ‘wife material’, the one you’ve been searching for, into the beautiful garment her Lord has in mind?
Or will you turn her into a mopping stick due to your incompetence?
As you search for that 'wife' (a lady that is 'ripe' for marriage - godly, homely, submissive, wise, prudent, industrious, etc.), please put into consideration the calibre of tailor you are.
Don't throw all your energy into the search, use some of those to develop yourself.
Don't keep looking outside (to see 'wife materials'), start looking inside (to see how you can develop yourself).
Are you a lover of the Word of God?
How many books on relationship have you read?
How are you dealing with those character flaws?
Do you have the capacity to effectively stand as the Priest and Prophet of your family?
Can you effectively man the [spiritual] gate of your family?
Do you know what ladies really desire from their husbands?
Start looking inwards my friend!
Therefore I speak to you:
Start buying and reading books on how to handle a wife… on how to cut them into shape without hurting them… on how to stitch them to produce that which they were designed to produce (that they fulfill purpose)… on how to sprinkle some water on them as you iron out the creases without hurting them!
Go learn from the Maker of the materials… treasure His Words in your heart!
Let's end with this Scripture:
"Husbands, go all out in your love for your wives, exactly as Christ did for the church--a love marked by giving, not getting.
Christ's love makes the church whole.
His words evoke her beauty.
Everything he does and says is designed to bring the best out of her, dressing her in dazzling white silk, radiant with holiness.
And that is how husbands ought to love their wives. They're really doing themselves a favour--since they're already "one" in marriage.
No one abuses his own body, does he? No, he feeds and pampers it. That's how Christ treats us, the church"
Ephesians 5:25-29, MSG
You see what the Lord instructed the husband to do there?
Those things are not imparted into the husband at the wedding altar!
They are developed... and your singlehood period is the time to do just that.
Don't waste your singleness!
I am becoming a man
Lord, as I look inwards, point out areas where I need to work on, and grant me the grace to do just that.
Quality materials are usually taken to skilled tailors.
Think (look inwards) and write down areas of your life that need work, and map out strategies to tackle them.
Ephesians 5
