Spiritual Decorum To Preserve Your Destiny

"Stop going to the house of a single pastor alone to wash clothes."

This morning, I want to write to all who are occupying one leadership position or the other. Or you are aspiring to be a leader.

Fellowship presidents, executives, NCCF executives, young pastors, HODs and so on.

You are part of God's army. You are at the front line. You are confronting the onslaught of the enemy, pushing back his work and his intentions.

You are in a vital position.

Many are possibly looking up to you, watching you to make their own decisions, studying your body language and even your idiosyncrasies.

The devil and his cohorts are also watching you and studying you like a textbook, watching for loopholes and traps they can set up for you, to cause you to come to loggerheads with the God you claim to serve.

You cannot afford to live anyhow.

You cannot afford to be loose with the opposite sex.

Desiring the work of ministry as a result of God's call or desiring to serve in a leadership position, having prepared yourself is good. There is nothing wrong with that.

That is what the scripture says.

1 Timothy 3:1 (KJV)
This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.

Your desire is cool.

But is not all about desire as the next verse says.

Even though, this is talking about Pastors, we can glean wisdom from there for leaders and aspiring leaders.

Vesre 2 begins to point out that this is beyond just desiring and there is more to your desires.

Are you ready?

The Message Translation says

1 Timothy 3:2 (MSG)
But there are preconditions: A leader must be well-thought-of, committed to his wife, cool and collected, accessible, and hospitable. He must know what he's talking about,

The Amplified version says

1 Timothy 3:2 (AMPC)
Now a bishop (superintendent, overseer) must give no grounds for accusation but must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, circumspect and temperate and self-controlled; [he must be] sensible and well behaved and dignified and lead an orderly (disciplined) life; [he must be] hospitable [showing love for and being a friend to the believers, especially strangers or foreigners, and be] a capable and qualified teacher,

The word bishop here does not refer to the way we view the title today.

It simply means "pastor"

The call to leadership is a call to a life of strict discipline.

You put yourself in a dangerous position when you start using your positional influence to desecrate those you are met to lead.

Jesus said He will make us fishers of men.

He never asked you to fry the fish!

Never ever go to bed with those under your care.

You are going to end your life sooner than you think if you are on that lane. Shame beckons to such people.

Your position is not meant to manipulate younger ones.

It is not meant to intimidate them.

If you have been messing with God's people in your capacity as a leader, you need to seek help from your pastor or mentor.

Young ladies, do not visit the house of single pastor or leader all in the name of serving. The one you are serving in church is enough. It's just an advice o, so that your destiny will not be served away.

Stop going to the house of a single pastor alone to wash clothes. You are not a dry-cleaner by calling. It is not the Holy Spirit that asks you to go on such dangerous and unwise missions, you sent yourself.

I am going to stop here this morning and continue tomorrow.

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY
I am consistent with God

PRAYER FOR THE DAY

Lord, hold me by your right hand.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

1 Timothy 3:3-4 (MSG)  not be overfond of wine, not pushy but gentle, not thin-skinned, not money-hungry.  [4]  He must handle his own affairs well, attentive to his own children and having their respect.

ACTION PLAN FOR THE DAY

Stop every form of manipulation if there are any
