The Master Chef Is Busy Cooking Your Lover

Have you ever asked the question, “why do I really need to wait?”

For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. (Habakkuk 2:3 KJV)
We will be looking at the concluding phrase in the above verse today.
“…though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.”
What exactly is God trying to say here? If a man makes the above statement, you want to probably check if the man is okay! Though it tarry, it will not tarry! How can something “tarry” and then you are saying again that it will not “tarry?” If it will tarry, let us know, if it will not tarry, let us know, but which one is “though it tarry, it will not tarry!”
What is God trying to say? Now let me give you a KHC translation:
Even though you waited, at the end you will forget you ever waited!
Even though there seems to be delay, there will not be denial!
Here is the way The Message Translation puts it:
“If it seems slow in coming, wait. It's on its way. It will come right on time”
Glory to God! It seems slow, but it will come right on its time! And you know something about God’s timing?
He hath made every thing beautiful in his time… (Ecclesiastes 3:11a KJV)
Though it tarry, wait for it, because it will SURELY come, and when it comes, you will forget you ever waited!
In other words, the only time you will ever think you are waiting and you are delayed is while you are expecting, after it has come and it is done, somebody will have to remind you that you ever waited by virtue of the beautiful thing that God wants to do in your life!
So God advises, wait for that which I want to do, it will SURELY come and after it comes, you will forget you ever waited.
The delivery of the promise would have translated you into such divine ecstasy that it will wipe out the memory of the waiting years!
The joy, the glory, the exuberance and the fulfillment that accompany you because you waited would have been so overwhelming that some form of healthy amnesia takes place, the children have come in quick succession, the peace of mind that passeth all understanding has enraptured you, and you would have forgotten the shame of your youth!
My word for you this morning, wait for it! Don’t settle for less! Don’t settle for the person that is without the covenant!
Have you ever gone to a friend’s house when you were really hungry? You were so hungry you wanted to eat anything! If you were given paper and stew, you would almost eat!
Your friend says, ‘wait a minute, I am coming!” He disappears into the kitchen and thirty minutes has passed, nothing came out! You are so livid with anger!
“My friend is plain wicked. I told him I am desperate to eat, at least there is Nodules that takes five minutes to be ready, and he could have just made that!”
Then, you heard your friend, pounding yam!
“O Lord, pounded yam? That would take ages? Does this guy have an idea of how hungry I am?”
In the next hour, nothing came forth! You weigh your options, should I leave this friend that is so uncaring and find something else to eat? As you wanted to take your leave, there is that unmistakable aroma of the Nigerian Egusi stew. O Lord, God, it’s almost ready! You decided to wait! After a while, the food finally came, and you descended on it with a holy anger.
Fast forward, thirty minutes, the hunger plus the anger was gone, you are relaxed watching the television and you have forgotten that there was a time you were waiting for food! You see, your friend loves you so much he doesn’t want some five-minute nodules for you; he wanted you to be satisfied!
That is the way God is! God doesn’t want some nodules spouse for you that will last only a few years. God wants to give you a pounded yam with double-decked stew spouse! The one that will last you a lifetime!
This morning, I stand by the kitchen of heaven, and I can perceive the aroma of some wedding rice, I can see the mighty blessing that God is cooking for you! It’s almost ready! Don’t leave in anger! Don’t think God is uncaring. Wait for it! You’ve got to wait for it because that blessing will surely come and my dear, when it comes, you will be so fulfilled you will forget you ever waited!
I will wait. It will surely come.

Lord, help me to wait so that at the end, I will be in your plan

For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay (Habakkuk 2:3 ESV)

Thank God for what He is "cooking" for you!
