Marriage is a destiny decision; it can change one's destiny. It is designed by God for specific purposes.

Examples of scriptural marriages include;

1. Adam and Eve - ideal companionship
2. Abraham and Sarah - waiting together
3. Isaac and Rebecca - How God makes a match
4. Jacob and Rachael - Love endures
5. Hosea and Gomer - Unconditional love
6. King Xerxes and Esther - Courageous influence

Marriage is very powerful in terms of fulfilment of purpose. A wrong marriage makes one unable to fulfil God's purpose. Marriage is packaged for companionship.

WRONG REASONS FOR GETTING MARRIED.

Anger and Resentment: Don't get married to spite people or to punish others. Eph. 4:31.

Escape route from something unpleasant. You can only escape when you acquaint yourself with God. Job 22:21.

A low self-esteem. Find yourself worth in your relationship with Christ Hebs 12:2,3; Matt 11:28,29.

Marriage of convenience. Hebs 12:15.

Everybody's getting in a relationship except me. For this reason, they get into any available relationship.

Fear of independence. They want to continue being dependent on others. Cor 10:12.

Fear of hurting the other person, especially when the person makes a threat.

Taking the place of the Holy Spirit. Don't do what the Holy Spirit can do because you can get emotionally entangled.

It is very essential for one to get it right in marriage. Ask the Lord to help you not to make a mistake.
