The Story of the Torn Veil

I was listening to my Mother telling me about a traumatic experience she underwent simply because she thought God must have abandoned her.

It was so traumatic that she almost ended up committing suicide because she felt that God must really be angry with her. Until God intervened.

God did not only speak about His love for her, He also showed her just how much He loved her by attending to her every need during that dark moment.

Her experience brought the song titled "At the Cross" by Hillsong to my mind.

The song speaks of how the blood of Christ was shed on the cross for us and how there is no greater love than that shown by Christ on that cross.

For me, the most fascinating part of that song was and still is the bridge. The bridge of the song speaks of the torn veil. When Jesus said it was finished the veil that separated us from God was torn from top to bottom.

This tells me that God was so in a hurry to be reconciled with us that He removed the barrier separating us from Him as fast and as swiftly as He could. Talk about some tough love!!!

This simply means that feeling that makes you think you are unloved by God is a filthy lie from the Devil. God loves you enough to die for you in your most 'unphotoshoped' state.

This is a big deal!!! Do meditate on the lyrics of this song. It will do you good. I promise.

[Verse 1]
Oh Lord You've searched me You know my way Even when I fail You I know You love me

[Verse 2]
Your holy presence Surrounding me In every season I know You love me I know You love me

At the cross, I bow my knee Where Your blood was shed for me There's no greater love than this You have overcome the grave Your glory fills the highest place What can separate me now?

[Verse 3]
You go before me You shield my way Your hand upholds me And you love me Back to Chorus [Bridge] You tore the veil You made a way When You said that it is done You tore the veil You made a way When You said that it is done

[Verse 4]
And when the earth fades Falls from my eyes And You stand before me I know You love me I know You love me
