Watch Out For Character Flaws

Your character is who you are when nobody is watching. Your character is the real you. It is your inner capacity to handle issues, deal with pressures, and your inner capacity to do good or bad. Your character comes from your heart and so the source of your character is hidden but has an outward physical manifestation.

Because we are still in the days of our flesh, we all have a character issue to deal with or another. In fact, Jesus calls these character flaws works of the flesh.

In fact, our whole Christian race is all about gaining mastery over the flesh.

Basically, our character flaws are our temperamental weaknesses that we have refused to deal with. God presents us with different opportunities to confront our weaknesses or character flaws.

These opportunities are usually not pleasant or pleasurable. They may come in form of tasks, correction, discipling, rebuke, hardship, strenuous work, difficult people, unpleasant instructions to obey orders, to obey systems, to follow, unfamiliar terrain to walk in, sacrifices to make, comfort zone to forfeit and humility to embrace without complaining or murmuring.

These situations no matter how tough are to work out patience, experience and character in us. This will and can only happen when we cooperate and learn the necessary lessons.

Gold is brought forth out of fire. Every precious metal must pass through fire before their true beauty and brilliance show forth. Avoiding or running away from these opportunities is what is responsible for character flaws

Before you ever fall in love, watch out for these character flaws. There are two major character flaws that are very dangerous. They are dangerous because many other major character flaw flows from them.

Once you notice these flaws, they are caution signs.

Especially if they become habitual and almost done always by impulse and without remorse. That means the issue has become a second nature.

This becomes difficult because the person no longer sees it as a problem or issue. Every attempt to rebuke or correct such person is met with strong opposition and reactions. Thus, he or she still never learns nor see the danger ahead.

It becomes a serious issue when you fall in love with such person. What happens is that the euphoria of love blinds you from seeing these character flaws. You marry and then character flaws begins to emerge as though hidden before.

This is what happens when couples have issues and they say things like, "I never knew nor saw all these character issues.

It becomes too late and the spouse has to cope with the character flaws.

Watch out for these character flaws so you don't have to be faced with the consequences later in the future.

We will talk about these two major dangerous character flaws tomorrow by God's grace.
