What Was It Like Back Then In The Beginning Days?

So, it's my wife's birthday today!

Thank God for His blessings and faithfulness over the years.

God has been good and He has been great!

Yesterday was our wedding anniversary as well.

When I look at the picture back then, I conclude God has been good. Then I'm like this can't be me. What? Especially that our traditional wedding picture.

Fast forward to today, I can only say God has been good!

Can't just believe it's been 19 years already!

Is someone not getting old like that?

Well, me, I am not an old man yet.

The glory of old men is in their grey hair!

It didn't say grey beards. So I am still young! Praise God!

Candidly speaking, God has been good.

Don't even know what to write about this morning!

Was it not like yesterday when we started courting in the premises of Popoola Hospital Hall, Ijebu-Igbo, Olabisi Onabanjo University?

That is how it is going to be like o!

Now, you are like, where is my spouse? When will I get married?

Then, in a moment, you will be looking back, getting ready to marry out your first child. Believe me, it's that fast! You know, what, stay focused, and keep serving God.

Can't believe my first son is already in 200 Level in University! As in...

What were my thoughts back then?

Anticipation.

Faith. A lot of it.

Doubts. Probably a lot too...albeit, in the mind.

Peace. Like a river. Probably my greatest source of confidence.

There was peace. I knew I was in God's plan.

I knew I was getting entangled with God's choice for me.

Ambition was far away!

It was more of direction.

Not what I wanted, but what He Instructed.

That is perhaps our greatest strength over the years.

We were not perfect.

We didn't know it all.

We quarreled. A lot. We still quarrel.Perhaps, you think pastors never quarrel with each other. You'll be surprised.

My chlorMel firm, sparky, solid, quick, unshaken temperament was in contrast with her gentle, firm, stubborn, quiet melphleg temperament.

But we knew we were made for each other.

And so, our focus was defined.

We were not having issues because we married wrong.

You see, all that your personal opinions would have to go, you are going to need to accommodate another human being into your life whose thoughts and opinions are so far different from yours!

All challenges were because we married right and the devil wanted to "wrong" it.

So, we knew how to fight and who to pray against.

Our battle was strategic.

Marriage is work. You carry that cross daily. Ministry cross is there too. And you must not allow this crosses to cross each other out!

We were not praying for God to show us whether we "missed it marriage!"

And this is very important.

Be SURE before you dive into the marital ocean.

For the storms will come, like it or not.

But you will be able to work together, once you are sure you are supposed to be together!

Once again, Happy Birthday to Pastor Sophia! Say a word of prayer for her.

God bless you all.

Your marriage will be great!

You will not shi-marry! (It means you will not marry the wrong person!)
