When Boo/Bae Delays

Ex 32:1 KJV And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.

This happened to the Israelites, after waiting patiently for Moses for 40 days.

Logically, they were right to react that way. 40 days isn’t some 40 seconds.

Yes, you have waited years for your “prince charming” to come.

It looks like your princess, the love of your life isn’t born…or why haven’t you met her?

From the above story, I want to show us few lessons we can pick, as it relates to relationships and marriages.

1. They never really knew God.
They were used to quick things. Had they crossed the red sea in 10 days, they would have been more patient. Each time they cried to Moses, God would always show up. They only could relate with the fast and quick side of God.

What’s the lesson there for us? Don’t be too full of yourself, thinking you know it all. There are several things you still need to learn about relationships. Even the married are still learning. There are several aspects of God you haven't discovered yet.
If you’ve been praying 20 minutes and getting results, don’t think that if God doesn’t answer you by the 21st minute, then that is not his will for you.

Do you understand what I am saying?

Delve more into the scriptures and find out who God is.

Do you know God has a maternal side, and he said he will dandle you upon his maternal knees? Glory!

2. Don’t settle for an alternative.
A married man is an alternative. Anal and oral stuffs are alternatives. Your Moses may delay, but he will definitely come down. The Israelites knew he was going to come down, because the bible says when they saw that he delayed, not when they saw that he decided to permanently dwell there.

Giving your virginity to your boyfriend or girlfriend on valentines day is an alternative…wait for the real deal.

Abraham settled for an alternative, you and I know what that resulted into.

Alternatives don’t last, they only prevent you from experiencing the real deal.

Barely 24 hours after, Moses came down.

That intense pressure is because your Moses is on his way down. Don’t falsify that document, a promotion may be on its way down. Settling for a plan B simply tells God you don’t trust his timing.

The delay may be from God, it may be from you. Find out.

3. Have regard for your pastor.
What has my pastor got to do with this? Everything! I don’t mean you should fake it, but have a genuine relationship with your man of God.

…for as for this Moses…that’s a bad way to refer to your spiritual head. It’s called scorning and God takes no pleasure in scorners.

Regardless of his age, he occupies an office and God respects that office.

The presence of false prophets does not nullify the fact that there are real prophets, because there cannot be a photocopy without the original.

Read 2Chron 20:20…that’s the password for some of us.

Don’t slow yourself down this year. Don’t be impatient like Esau. I know your biological clock is ticking, but keep telling yourself; “my ‘Moses’ is coming”.

My “Moses” is coming down

Lord, help my impatience.

Cultivate a healthy relationship with your pastor.
