Why Am I Still Single At This Age?

Father, I’ve been trusting you for a spouse all this while, almost all my Course mates in the University are almost married and me I’m still as single as singular. Ah God why!!!

Just last week, Sister Sarah did her introduction, the same Sarah that just got born again six months ago after living a life of sexual compromise, me I’ve remained faithful to you all my life. God, let the brother locate me, open His eyes!!! This is December already. Time is running...
I’m sure some of us might be at this point, still waiting to be led by God, in times like this the best thing to turn to is God’s word, it is our best source of encouragement and wisdom to know what to do
Ecclesiastes 3:1 1(GNB)
He has set the right time for everything. He has given us a desire to know the future, but never gives us the satisfaction of fully understanding what he does.
Verse 11 of KJV says
“God has made everything beautiful in His time...”
Sister Sade’s time cannot be your time.
Brother John’s time is definitely not your own.
While you’re still in the waiting period, get closer to the word, the enemy might want to make you feel like God has abandoned or forgotten all about you, but you have to remind yourself that God cannot and He has great plans for you.
Scripture says in Jeremiah 29:11 (GNB) that “I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for.”
Let’s break that down
1. I alone know – It’s only God, not your parents, not even yourself. It is ONLY God. The way to live our life is not by our decision, but by discovery which comes by revelation through the instrumentality of God’s Word and the person of the Holy Spirit.
2. The Plans I Have for you – God has plans for you. “Plans” is plural, so it’s not just one plan and then God is done with you. You are not a mistake or an accident. God custom made you and there is no one and there will never be anyone like you. God does not do His things haphazardly. But still these plans are His and so to find out about them, you must draw closer to Him.
3. Plans to bring you to prosperity – This is telling us specifically what those plans entails.
ERV says “I have good plans for you”.
A spouse is included in those good plans, and not just any kind of spouse, it’s the one who will not use you as his punching bag, the spouse that will be your prayer partner and not your prayer point, the one that will encourage you to love God more.
Think of anything good. It’s included in God’s plans – A car, a good accommodation, Children, A good job e.t.c.
4. And not Disaster – God has our best interests at heart, this is one thing you must always remind yourself every time. God is a loving father and He always wants the best for us.
5. Plans to bring about the future you hope for – You want to get married; God wants you to get married too. In fact God invented marriage. You want a steady stream of income, God wants more than that for you, It is His desire that you are rich and that you prosper so that you can advance His kingdom.
The waiting period is also a good time for self development, like the parable of the talents (Matthew 25:14-30), God will not entrust to you what you cannot handle.
If you are not a faithful steward with a job of N25,000 and you’re trusting God for more. You have not read books on relationships, temperaments and you’re praying for a spouse.
Note that the waiting period is not just a period of being idle, but a period of preparation, of being fashioned by the master, of the dross being removed and pruned.
What are you doing during the waiting period? Are you complaining and whining? Or you’re getting prepared because you know something big is coming?
I trust your plans, I will not be in a hurry
Father, by your Holy Spirit, prepare me, work on me. Make me to be the best man/woman to my spouse.
Jeremiah 29:11 (CEV) - I will bless you with a future filled with hope—a future of success, not of suffering.
Ephesians 6 – Phillipians 2
