Why Are My Prayers For A Future Spouse Unanswered?

Merry Christmas! May the season bring with it God's blessings for you and yours in Jesus name.

I understand how this could get. I mean, we all don’t like having to wait so long for something we want almost immediately.

Wouldn’t it be cool if we got the answers to all our prayers almost immediately? Well, not really.

This is because God, the all-knowing God, knows that giving us immediate answers to some of our prayers will land us in more trouble than we were before the prayer point itself began.

If you are wondering why your prayers for a future spouse have not been answered yet, I have this question to ask you.

What are your motives for wanting God to give you a bae or a boo?

Think about this really slowly.

Is it because you are secretly envious of your close friend’s relationship, or because you want to show your friends that you understand this relationship game better than they think you do?

Or because you want to pepper dem? You know, the pepper dem gang?

Are you desperately in need of a bae or boo because time doesn’t seem to be on your side anymore? Or you cannot just handle loneliness? Or your parents have put you in a pressure cooker kind of condition?

Listen! No matter how hard or how long you cry, God is not going to budge because, while men can see your tears, God is looking straight into your heart.

God is searching your heart to see why you are praying for a bae or boo.

God would not want to give you a bae or boo when He knows that you don’t understand the reason for godly relationships in the first place.

God is not going to give you a bae or boo when He knows that wrong motives will turn something that was meant to be a blessing into a curse.

Godly relationships/marriage are supposed to be entered into with the mindset of being a blessing to someone else and not with the intention of satisfying your selfish interest(s).

A wise man once said that, “Love is the foundation for successful prayers.” This is a revolutionary truth.

The miracles Jesus wrought in His ministry was preceded by love, by compassion. That’s how Jesus got answers to His prayers. And we know, from 1 Corinthians 13:5, that love is not selfish.

So if you really want to start seeing answers to your prayers for a bae or boo, ask the Lord to help you get your motives right.

If you want to see answers to your prayers, do it the 1 Corinthians 13 way.

Let love from God be the motivation for your prayers.

Let being a blessing to someone else be the motivation for your prayers and not selfish interests.

BIBLE READING OF THE DAY
I Corinthians 13: 4-6: Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps not record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out (NLT).
