For all that is in the world- Lust of the flesh, Lust of the Eyes and Pride of Life. It is not of the father. 1st John 2:16' .
Do not love the world or the things of the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the father is not in him. Vs15.
The love of the father is not in such person, why..Because those who are in the flesh or loving the world cannot please the father. If you are in the flesh, you cannot do the things of the spirit such as exercising your faith, avoiding Jeru trap, you keep on doing the things of the flesh... Lustful desires, the guy must be tall, dark and handsome, he must have a fat account, he must be driving the latest car, big mansion, lies, deceit, wrath, jealousy, strife, bitterness. You keep on living in fear also. Nobody is saying they should not have all these, but that should not be all what you are after, your priority, things of the world or nothing else. You don't even care if he keeps beating you,so far he has all these . The things of the world should not just be what you are concerned about. Loving it more than anything else . If we want to please God in our lives, relationship, we have to live according to the spirit.
Now the works of flesh / the world are of the devil. Romans 8:6 says' for to be carnally minded(doing the things of the flesh /world) is death. And we know the devil has come to kill, steal and destroy. In other words to kill that glorious relationship, to destroy that Joy that you have, he brings in these tricks...lust of the eyes, such as how King David fell., Lust of the flesh, such as Samson , pride of Life.. Such as Gehazi, Ananias and Saphira. But Jesus said he has come that we might have life and have it in abundance. That same Romans 8:6 says that but to be spiritually minded is life...meaning if we live according to the spirit and spirit minded! We have life , life abundance.
Make up your mind today who you want to serve. The flesh or the spirit. We can't have two masters over the body. Decide to live for God, to do it the right way in your relationship. Yes, it might seem you are losing or suffering, but the Joy afterwards, cannot be compared to the suffering you are facing now. The Joy is Eternal. He is the way, truth and life.
