Service of Songs for Okoya-Thomas

March 2 has been slated for the service of songs for late Chief Molade Okoya-Thomas, an eminent sports enthusiast and industrialist who died recently. It will be held at the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club premises, Onikan at 6p.m.
In a statement released by Bala Yesufu, an Executive member of the club read; “The special service of songs is in recognition of Chief Okoya-Thomas’ immense contributions to the club as well as sports development in the country. His role in the development of sports in Nigeria is no less remarkable and will remain indelible”.
A sports lover and philanthropist of great repute, Okoya-Thomas established the popular Asoju-Oba Table Tennis Championship. He was the sole sponsor of the tournament for over four decades.
His remains will be laid to rest on March 6 as announced by the family.
