Dear teen, at sixteen and seventeen you guys are still in secondary school or have just graduated. I need you to understand that courtship is a period when two consenting ADULTS get to know themselves more after agreeing to get married. Before getting into courtship, it's advisable to be fully prepared, emotionally, mentally, psychologically, financially (yes you read correctly), and spiritually. You both are still young and dependent on your parents or guardians as the case may be. Entering into a "courtship" now, is to bottle up your future as you both are not really ready to face the challenges it comes with.
My advice,
Improve on yourself first before getting into a relationship by reading good christian books on relationships. "HI, CAN WE BE FRIENDS" by Tekena Ikoko is my first choice.
