Mother of Two makes Barbie Doll Reference for Natural Beauty
Angelica Sweeting and husband Jason, from Miami have produced near perfect Barbie dolls as 'look alikes' of their daughters Sophia and Sydney with the hope to help other families too.
In a video on their Kickstarter page , Jason explained that the Angelica Doll had to be created because of their daughter Sophia who was only four years old, yet did not like the way she looked. According to the parents,their four-year-old daughter wanted to look like the doll or characters she constantly saw on TV that had yellow hair and white skin.
This experience made the couple on their toes to create an 18 – inch doll with natural hair, skin to and features which reflected their family.
"I’m creating Angelica to let girls know that they are beautiful. Our girls need to see a reflection of their own unique beauty. It’s time for our young girls to have a new standard." Their mother said.
