Handset causes Murder in Calabar
CrossRiverWatch reports that a young man stabbed a girl identified as Queen to death over a mobile phone.
It was reported that a friend of the deceased had collected her phone to help recharge the battery at her boyfriend's, (the suspect) place. The boyfriend was said to have seized the phone and refused to hand it over even when he was told the phone belonged to someone else.
After much appeal by the deceased to get her phone back, she went with her friend to confront the man to return her phone but that request turned fatal as the man allegedly stabbed her to death in the course of the argument that ensued between them before he took off from the scene.
It was also reported that the man also stabbed his girlfriend and left the two ladies unconscious though his girlfriend survived the attack.
The family of the late Queen are said to have reacted swiftly by picking her corpse and dumping it at the family house of the fugitive suspect located at Forsbery Street, Calabar.
