17 Years Later Nigeria Remembers Sani Abacha
Today, June 8, 2015, marks exactly 17 years since late Nigerian dictator, Sani Abacha died in mysterious circumstances at the Presidential Villa in Abuja after complaining of ill health earlier that day.
The official cause of death was said to be a heart attack but grapevine had it that Abacha had spent the night in the company of two Indian prostitutes who poisoned him.
Most Nigerians remember him as the country’s most vicious leader but some others have christened him a hero and a great man.
